Product Description The classic international award-winning The Farming Game has been adapted to fit a new industry- construction! Instead of making a living with fruit orchards, wheat, and cattle, players in The Construction Game go to work with backhoes, dozers, and graders. Although many of the business principles are the same, The Construction Game, is no clone; it's a great game in its own right! Adapted from the Farming Game by a construction engineer, this game gives players a first-hand try at the millions to be made in the hard-nosed world of dozer operators and construction bosses. The Construction Game teaches the gut-wrenching risks and rewards of the business. Players buy dozers, backhoes, excavators, and scrapers and put them to work. You can bid on jobs and purchase trucks, a sand and gravel operation, or a paving plant. Build your company slowly, or borrow your way into the big time, where a roll of the dice can bring you financial independence... or send you to the auction yard! Game Includes: $5,00,00 in construction cash, $20,000,000 in equipment and property, Plenty of I.O.U's; For 2 to 6 players ages 10 and up.

What a great game! April 3, 2007 M. Morken (MN, USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I'd have to say, that this game in my opinion is one of the best ones I have played. It has a lot of money swapping... stressful dice rolls which make you or break you along with positions on the board that make you go head to head with other players. I have had it for a couple months and have played it multiple times. It is similar to Monopoly but ... isn't.
great game for family fun! January 8, 2008 D. Michelle (E-burg, Wa.) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My 13 year old son had been begging for this game, but we could not find it in stores. Found it on Amazon and got it in time for Christmas, and the whole family loves it! It is similiar to The Farming Game, with 'real-life' scenarios that make you think. Better than computer games that do all the brain-work for you.
Better than the Farming Game! January 6, 2009 Jacob Whitehead (Orange County, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Truly a fun game! My family and I could not stop playing it. We have always enjoyed the Farming Game which was the inspiration for this game. The Construction Game utilizes essentially the same structure as the Farming Game but adds some fun rules which take some of the arbitrary catastrophes out and increases the element of risk taking. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys group strategy games (I am not sure that is an official genre, but there you have it).
Very fun game! May 26, 2009 R. Bosma (Kentwood, MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We first learned The Farming Game and really liked it. But when we were looking into purchasing it we came across this one and decided to purchase it instead after reading about it. We love it! It is kind of like Monopoly but a lot more fun. You purchase different kinds of construction equipment throughout the game and decide whether or not to do the different jobs that you land on based on the equipment you own and what the possible expenses and returns will be. There are even some "competitive bid" jobs that every player who owns a particular type of equipment can bid against each other to do.
You can tell it is made by the same people who make The Farming Game. Instead of "construction worker" pawns they give you the same farmers that are used in The Farming Game. The bank loan notes are also in the same denominations as in The Farming Game even though you need to borrow a lot more in this game. We made extra bank notes, some in larger denominations, because we would run out pretty fast.
We play this game a lot and it is fun for both a couple or several people. We highly recommend it!
